Psycho Bandit returns: How to get Borderlands skins in Fortnite

Borderlands skins, including one based on the iconic cover star Psycho, have returned to Fortnite. These items, along with more themed cosmetics, are currently available in the game’s Item Shop.

The ongoing promotion is headlined by Psycho Bandit and Mad Moxxi, two highly popular characters in the series. While the former was originally introduced in 2019, the latter joined Fortnite’s cosmetic lineup in 2025. Although they aren’t among the rarest Fortnite skins, their limited-time availability makes them highly sought after whenever they return to the Item Shop.

It’s also worth noting that while you can buy the Mad Moxxi skin individually, the Psycho Bandit skin is only available with the namesake bundle. These skins, along with the other Borderlands cosmetics, are available until July 16, 2026, at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.

Steps to claim Borderlands skins in Fortnite

1. In Fortnite, navigate to the Shop section.
   
2. Next, scroll down to the Borderlands promo and select the Psycho Bandit bundle (worth 2,000 V-Bucks) or the Mad Moxxi outfit. (1,500 V-Bucks)
   
3. At last, press and hold the Purchase button to complete the transaction.

Psycho Bandit and Mad Moxxi are two of the more popular skins that are part of the Gaming Legends series. This sub-category of skins houses a plethora of cosmetics that emerged from memorable collabs between Fortnite and various game franchises.

Among the most popular game characters to join Fortnite so far are Lara Croft, Leon Kennedy, Solid Snake, Master Chief, Doom Slayer and Street Fighter’s Ryu. The latest to be added to the roster was Dave The Diver in June 2026. Apart from the Item Shop, some of these skins can also be bought as a freebie when purchasing the corresponding game via the Epic Games Store.

With more exciting games coming out throughout the year, it will be interesting to see which game protagonist joins Fortnite next. Maybe Jason or Lucia from GTA 6 or Old Snake from Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is on the cards?
