How to get galaxy sprites in Fortnite and unlock their benefits

Wondering how to find galaxy sprites in Fortnite? This guide covers their spawn locations, available variants, and the special ammo boost they offer in Chapter 7 Season 3.

Explore with AI:

Galaxy sprites are the latest sprite variant in Fortnite, which were introduced on June 18. Importantly, this particular variant offers you a 20% bonus on the ammo you pick up, on top of a given sprite’s ability.

From Galaxy Duck Sprite to Galaxy Demon Sprite, there are several galaxy sprites that you can find around the Fortnite map. With the help of the guide below, you can check out those areas where this variant is more likely to appear.

Where to find galaxy sprites in Fortnite

1. Sinister Strip

Sinister Strip

There are a few abandoned containers to the north-east of Sinister Strip, from inside one of which you need to find and collect an Epic Vault Keycard. After that, go to the main Sinister Strip area and enter the building with a giant sprite on top of it.

In its basement, you will find a vault that you can open by swiping the keycard collected earlier. Inside, you will find two Sprite Chests and a Rare Chest, one of which can grant you a galaxy sprite.

2. Frosted Flats

Opposite one of the cranes, you will find a stack of big ice cubes. Break some of those cubes, and you will find a Rare Chest from which you can obtain the desired sprite.

3. The Zero Point

The Zero Point

This region is where you will find some really good loot, including Sprite Chests. In particular, this is apparently a great spot for those looking for a Galaxy Zero Point Sprite. However, you may also find other players competing for the same rewards, so make sure to watch your back at all times here and to not stay here long after you have already acquired the available loot.

4. Random encounters

Galaxy sprite spawn rate in the game is extremely low at the moment. So, even if you unlock several chests in every game, your chances of grabbing one are not that high. Surprisingly, some players have found these sprites roaming around by simply exploring the map rather than chasing chest locations.

If you are tired of having to fight over chests with other players, you can just go about your usual playing style, with a focus on exploring as many parts of the map as you can in the hopes of encountering a galaxy sprite.

Best time to get galaxy sprites in Fortnite

Although galaxy sprites are very hard to come by, there are certain occasions where their spawn rate gets a boost, helping more players acquire them. One such event, called Galaxy Hour, is approaching on June 27. It is scheduled to take place over two phases, first from 3:30 PM ET to 4:30 PM ET (12:30 PM PT to 1:30 PM PT) and then from 9:30 PM ET to 10:30 ET (6:30 PM PT to 7:30 PM PT). Hence, it’s recommended that interested players should play more matches during this particular period.

Other ways to get galaxy sprites

Snatch it from other players

Several Fortnite players have found it beneficial to track and eliminate other players to obtain the sprites in their possession. Since the galaxy variants are the rarest in the game right now, this method emerges as a reasonable option.

Before the match begins, check out what all the other players in the lobby are carrying on their back. If you spot one carrying the sprite that you want, try to remember his appearance, so that you can identify him later. As the Battle Bus goes over the map, keep an eye out for when that player jumps out and then go after him. Confront that player and eliminate him to get your hands on the sprite.

Index it from a friend

Hands down, the easiest way to get hold of a galaxy sprite or any sprite of your choice is to simply index it from someone who already owns it. You can simply extract the sprite and then return it to the original owner. There are quite a few players willing to share their sprites, and they can be found in the “sprite-runners-network” channel on Fortnite’s official Discord.

Wrapping up

The recently introduced galaxy sprites have certainly overtaken gummy sprites when it comes to rarity. With more sprite types and the Galaxy Hour coming later this week, it will be interesting to see how that changes. Regardless, Fortnite players can expect the hunt for existing and forthcoming sprites to continue for the time being, as a new version lands in the game every Thursday.
