Apple Music and Apple One just got more expensive

Apple has raised U.S. prices for every Apple Music plan and two Apple One bundles. The changes took effect on July 17, adding between $1 and $3 to Apple Music and $2 to the affected Apple One plans.

The increase is part of a wider round of pricing changes covering several countries and products, according to a MacRumors roundup. In the U.S., however, Apple Music and Apple One are the only services affected by this latest move.

Apple’s U.S. pricing page now lists the following monthly rates:

The Family plan sees the largest increase, rising nearly 18%. It still supports up to six people through Family Sharing, making the effective cost about $3.33 per person when fully shared.

The plans keep the same features, including ad-free listening, offline downloads, lossless audio, Spatial Audio, and Apple Music Classical.

Apple told Music Business Worldwide that rising licensing costs were behind the increase. This is the first Apple Music price hike since October 2022.

Apple One Family and Premier rise by $2

Apple also changed the prices of two Apple One bundles, but left its entry-level plan alone:

Apple One Individual is now $7.96 more than Apple Music Individual. That extra amount adds Apple TV, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud+ storage, so the unchanged bundle may look better to subscribers who already pay for more than one Apple service.

Family includes the same four services with 200GB of iCloud+ storage for up to six people. Premier adds 2TB of storage, Apple Fitness+, and Apple News+.

iCloud+ and iPhone prices are unchanged in the U.S.

Apple raised iCloud+ prices in Nigeria, Türkiye, Vietnam, Japan, Egypt, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Indonesia. U.S. iCloud+ prices remain at $0.99 for 50GB, $2.99 for 200GB, and $9.99 for 2TB per month. The larger 6TB and 12TB plans also remain $29.99 and $59.99. The company also raised iPhone prices by roughly 8% to 11% in Japan, but there is no matching increase in the U.S. iPhone store.

This follows Apple’s June decision to raise prices on Macs, iPads, Vision Pro, Apple TV, and HomePod. Apple blamed those hardware increases on soaring memory and storage costs driven by AI data-center demand. The Apple Music increase has a separate cause: licensing costs.

On an iPhone, existing subscribers can check their next renewal price by opening Settings, tapping their name, and selecting Subscriptions. If the higher rate no longer feels worthwhile, they can change or cancel the subscription before the next billing date.
