iOS 27.2 beta 1 adds a redesigned Health app, FaceTime Dual Capture, and an EU privacy update

Apple's first iOS 27.2 beta includes a redesigned Health app, Group FaceTime Dual Capture, and a new App Tracking Transparency prompt for users in the EU.

Apple has released iOS 27.2 developer beta 1, build 24B5084k. Apple’s developer release listing dates the seed to September 16, 2026. The beta brings a redesigned Health app and Group FaceTime Dual Capture, while Apple’s release notes add a privacy-related change for users in the European Union.

Developers with beta access can install the update from Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, then choose iOS 27 Developer Beta. It is still pre-release software, so the feature list can change as Apple continues testing.

Health app and FaceTime changes lead the beta

The redesigned Health app Apple previewed earlier this month is now active in the beta. The official Health announcement describes a new Insights tab, a Longevity tab, and Apple Intelligence-powered health guidance. The beta gives developers an early look at that redesign, although Apple has not said that every part of the final experience is locked.

Group FaceTime also gains Dual Capture. On supported iPhones, it can show the front and rear camera views at the same time, keeping your face in a small window while you show the other person what is in front of you. Apple’s FaceTime camera guide says the feature is available on iPhone 17 or later.

The wider release includes far more than this beta. Our iOS 27 features guide covers the Siri AI, Liquid Glass, Photos, Wallet, and child-safety changes Apple announced for iOS 27.

Apple’s release notes add an EU tracking prompt change

Apple’s iOS 27.2 beta release notes say AppTrackingTransparency now supports an alternative expanded prompt and yearly re-prompting for users in the EU. Apple says the alternative prompt is required in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Romania.

The same notes list two known issues: personalized summaries may not generate as expected in the Health app’s Insights tab, and the Describe a Shortcut feature may return an error. Those are useful warnings if you are installing the beta to try the new Health experience.

The first iOS 27.2 seed arrives after the late iOS 27.0 testing cycle, including iOS 27 beta 7 coverage. Apple has not announced a public release date for iOS 27.2, so the current build is best treated as an early look at the next round of changes.
