Apple will celebrate its 50th anniversary on April 1, 2026, marking five decades since its founding. The company confirmed the milestone and plans to recognize the people, creativity, and innovation that shaped Apple’s history.
Apple today announced it will celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary in the coming weeks, marking five decades since its founding on April 1, 1976. The company confirmed the milestone in a press release but did not disclose specific details about the planned celebrations.
Apple said the anniversary will serve as a moment to reflect on the company’s history while recognizing the people and communities that have built products, apps, and creative work using Apple technology.
The company stated that its anniversary activities will highlight the creativity, innovation, and global impact made possible through Apple products over the past five decades. However, Apple has not yet outlined the format or timing of any specific events or announcements tied to the celebration.
In the press release, Apple described the milestone as an opportunity to acknowledge the journey that shaped the company and the community that grew around its technology.
Apple CEO Tim Cook marked the announcement by sharing a letter titled “50 Years of Thinking Different.” The message references Apple’s long‑running “Think Different” advertising slogan used in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Cook said the idea of thinking differently has remained central to Apple’s approach to product development and its broader mission to build tools that help people create, communicate, and express themselves.
He also noted that while Apple typically focuses on future innovation rather than past achievements, the 50‑year milestone offered an opportunity to thank the millions of people who have contributed to the company’s growth.
Alongside the announcement, Apple launched a new Instagram account called “Hello Apple.” The account appears intended to support the anniversary campaign and related storytelling around Apple’s history and community.
Apple has not yet said whether additional product announcements, events, or commemorative initiatives will accompany the anniversary as April 1 approaches.
