A Smarter Way to Chat: Threaded Replies in WhatsApp Group Chats

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a threaded reply view feature for group chats. Taking cues from Slack and iMessage’s clean structure, this new feature is designed to make it easier to follow conversations and replies in busy group chats.

Here’s how it works:

• Each message in a group chat will display a small reply-count indicator.
• Tapping on it opens a dedicated thread view, showing all replies linked to that specific message.
• Users can reply directly within the thread, keeping discussions organized and on-topic.

This means you won’t need to scroll endlessly through a chat to figure out which message someone is responding to. Instead, all related replies are neatly grouped together in a contextual format, just like Slack.

Chat with Style: AI-Generated Wallpapers for iPhone Users

Beyond group chat improvements, WhatsApp is also diving into personalization. iPhone users will soon be able to create and apply custom Meta AI-generated wallpapers for their chats, according to WABetaInfo.

By using simple text prompts like “A llama on a balloon” or “Futuristic neon skyline,” users can generate unique and imaginative chat backgrounds tailored to their personal style.

Once created, these wallpapers can be:

• Previewed and edited (change colors, themes, and details)
• Applied individually to specific chats or globally across all conversations
