Gemini for Mac now opens Antigravity from a pill in the top-right corner. Gemini 4 Argon is available to AI Pro and Ultra, but 9to5Google reports Antigravity needs Ultra.
Google says Antigravity’s agentic coding interface is now available directly in the Gemini app for Mac. The same day, Google made Gemini 4 Argon available to AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. According to 9to5Google, the change is a pill in the top-right corner. It opens the full Antigravity app, and the same button closes it.
Google’s post says AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can use Gemini 4 Argon. For Antigravity, the post doesn’t name a tier. 9to5Google reports that Antigravity requires AI Ultra, so treat that as reported until Google confirms it.
If 9to5Google is right, Pro subscribers get the new model in the Gemini app but not Antigravity.
Antigravity was already a standalone app on Mac, Windows, Linux, and Googlebook. 9to5Google says Google has shipped updates every few days since May. The Gemini button opens that same app, and it doesn’t add a version inside the chat window. Antigravity 2.0 came out at I/O in May as a desktop app for managing agents. Now it’s one click away from Gemini.
9to5Google says Google points to Gemini 4 Argon’s coding upgrades as the reason for the change, and that you can build apps and web experiences from the same app. Developers will find that useful. Everyone else gets a second app inside Gemini.
Google also renamed three things in this update. The table lists the old and new names.
| Old name | New name | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Gemini Spark | Task | Switcher below the prompt box, and a Scheduled view |
| Connected Apps | Connectors | Customize section in the side panel |
| / (slash) | @ (mention) | Opens Skills |
Spark on Mac reached US AI Ultra subscribers in beta in July. Google introduced Spark at I/O as a 24/7 personal agent. Task is a plainer name.
9to5Google says the pill needs the latest Gemini app for macOS. The app launched in April, so if the pill doesn’t show, check for an update before deciding it’s missing. On Pro, you get Gemini 4 Argon. If the Ultra requirement holds, Antigravity is the part that needs the higher plan.
