New Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini could ship on October 30

Apple could release an updated Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini on October 30, according to a report ahead of its October 13 press event. Apple has not confirmed either.

Apple could start selling a new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini on October 30, according to Bloomberg reporting cited by MacRumors. The date would put the two home devices less than three weeks after Apple’s October 13 “Welcome home” press event. Apple has not confirmed either product or the reported release date.

The timing points to a possible staggered update for Apple’s home lineup. The rumored Apple TV and speaker could arrive first, while a separate smart-home hub is reportedly planned for November. That would give Apple several weeks to introduce new devices, but it remains a report rather than an announced launch schedule.

Two long-running products may be due for updates

Apple last refreshed the Apple TV 4K in 2022, while the HomePod mini has been on sale since 2020. Both products still work with Apple’s current services, but an update could give the company a chance to improve how it handles Siri and smart-home controls.

The latest report is specific about the expected shipping date, not the hardware. It does not confirm the new Apple TV’s processor, price, storage, video capabilities or a redesigned Siri Remote. Previous reporting has discussed changes Apple has tested for Siri on the Apple TV, but testing does not mean a feature will ship. Apple has not announced what, if anything, will change.

Details about the next HomePod mini are also unsettled. A second-generation model has been rumored, but Apple has not confirmed its chip, sound changes, connectivity features or price. The current mini remains the only model available from Apple. Shoppers should not assume that any rumored internal upgrade will be part of a product arriving on October 30.

The announcement and release dates could be different

Apple’s “Welcome home” teaser has prompted speculation about new home hardware, but it does not identify the Apple TV or HomePod mini. The press experience is scheduled for October 13 in New York. Apple has not said that a live, public product presentation will take place, and it has not listed products for the event.

If the October 30 date is accurate, Apple could announce the products before they are available to buy. The same report places the rumored HomeView hub in a later November window, which would make the release of the home lineup a two-step rollout. That timeline could change, and it is not yet clear whether every device would be available in the same countries on its first day.

For people waiting to replace an Apple TV or HomePod mini, the date is a reason to watch this week’s news rather than a reason to plan a purchase around a confirmed launch. Apple could reveal the products, push them to a later date or say nothing about them on October 13. Until then, specifications, pricing and availability remain unknown.

We’ve covered Apple’s rumored October product waves and the rumored smart-home hub timeline. Neither report confirms Apple’s plans for the Apple TV or HomePod mini.
