ChatGPT can now connect to your Apple Health data in the U.S.

OpenAI is rolling out Health in ChatGPT to eligible users in the United States, bringing Apple Health and supported medical records into the AI chatbot. The feature, which was previously available only to a limited group of beta testers, is now launching for users on the web and iOS across Free, Go, Plus, and Pro plans.

ChatGPT can use your health data to provide personalized answers

With your permission, ChatGPT can access information you’ve connected through Apple Health and supported medical records. That can include medications, lab results, recent doctor visits, sleep data, activity, and workouts.

Beyond answering general health questions, the Health section can also help users make sense of their own data. It can compare lab results from different dates, highlight what has changed since a previous appointment, keep track of medications, and bring together information from sleep, activity, and workouts to help users better understand overall health trends.

You can also ask follow-up questions, add details that aren’t in your connected records, or correct outdated information, and ChatGPT will use those updates throughout the conversation.

Your health data isn’t used to train ChatGPT

OpenAI says information connected through Apple Health and supported medical records isn’t used to train its AI models or serve advertisements. Conversations that rely on this information are also excluded from model training.

ChatGPT asks for your permission before accessing any connected or shared health information. Users can also continue using the Health section without linking medical records or Apple Health, allowing them to ask general health questions without sharing personal data.

Health in ChatGPT is rolling out today to logged-in users in the United States who are 18 or older on the web and iOS.
