Overwatch skins are now available in Fortnite for a limited time. Here’s how to get Tracer, D.Va, Mercy, and Genji, plus prices, bundle details, and event rewards.
Fortnite and Overwatch have finally crossed paths, bringing some of Blizzard’s most recognizable heroes into Epic’s battle royale universe. The collaboration adds new Overwatch-themed cosmetics to Fortnite, including outfits based on Tracer, D.Va, Mercy, and Genji, along with themed pickaxes, back blings, emotes, a glider, vehicle cosmetics, POIs, and event loot.
The Overwatch content arrived on May 14 as part of Act III in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2. It followed months of leaks and rumors from dataminers, but the crossover is now live in the Item Shop for a limited time.
If you want to grab the Overwatch skins in Fortnite, here is everything you need to know, including prices, bundle details, availability, and whether any of the skins can be unlocked for free.
To get Overwatch skins in Fortnite, you need to buy them from the Item Shop using V-Bucks.
Here’s how:
You can buy each skin separately for 1,600 V-Bucks, or purchase the full Overwatch Bundle for 4,200 V-Bucks if you want everything together.
The Overwatch skins are available until June 8 at 5 PM PDT / 8 PM EDT. After that, they will leave the Item Shop, and there is no confirmed return date.
No, the Overwatch skins are not free rewards. Tracer, D.Va, Mercy, and Genji are paid Item Shop cosmetics and must be purchased with V-Bucks.
However, the collaboration also adds Overwatch-themed gameplay content, map locations, event loot, and faction milestone rewards. Some of those rewards may be earned through gameplay during the event, but the main hero outfits are not free unlocks.
| Skin | Price | Included items | Available until |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tracer | 1,600 V-Bucks | Pulse Knives pickaxe, Pulse Bomb back bling | June 8 |
| D.Va | 1,600 V-Bucks | Tokki’s Slicer pickaxe, Travel Tokki Model back bling | June 8 |
| Mercy | 1,600 V-Bucks | Valkyrie Wings back bling and glider | June 8 |
| Genji | 1,600 V-Bucks | Ryu Ichimonji pickaxe and back bling | June 8 |
| Overwatch Bundle | 4,200 V-Bucks | All four skins, extra cosmetics, wrap, loading screen, and emotes | June 8 |
Tracer is arguably the most famous character in the hero shooter franchise, having been on the cover art of both Overwatch and Overwatch 2. This skin in Fortnite is available for 1,600 V-Bucks and packs Tracer’s Pulse Knives pickaxe and Tracer’s Pulse Bomb back bling as extras, which can also be bought separately for 300 and 500 V-Bucks, respectively.
D.Va is a character cherished by Overwatch players who are also into giant pilotable robots known as mechs. This skin, priced at 1,600 V-Bucks, also comes with freebies, including Tokki’s Slicer pickaxe, worth 800 V-Bucks and Travel Tokki Model back bling, worth 400 V-Bucks.
Mercy is one of the most iconic Overwatch heroes and was also the focal point of Fortnite’s collab announcement trailer. Mercy’s skin is available for 1,600 V-Bucks and comes in two different variants. Each variant features two visually distinct freebies, namely Mercy’s Valkyrie Wings back bling and glider. While the glider is also available separately for 800 V-Bucks, the back bling isn’t listed as an individual purchase in the Item Shop.
Being a sword-wielding cyborg ninja, Genji is naturally a go-to pick for sci-fi enthusiasts. It is selling for 1,600 V-Bucks and also includes Ryu Ichimonji pickaxe and back bling as bonus items. This particular pickaxe can also be bought on its own for 800 V-Bucks, but the same isn’t true for the back bling.
For those Fortnite players who want to get everything Overwatch in one full swoop, there is the Overwatch Bundle for 4,200 V-Bucks in the Item Shop. Apart from all the aforementioned items, this pack also contains Mercy’s Caduceus pickaxe, Mark of Mercy wrap, Mercy’s Medkit loading screen, and three emotes, including Blinkin’ Amazing (associated with Tracer), Lil’ Tokki (associated with D.Va), and Mercy’s Reach.
There are quite a few different things that have been added to Fortnite as part of its Overwatch collab, beyond the skins and other character cosmetics. First off, there is the car cosmetics bundle, priced at 2,400 V-Bucks, which comes with a Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric, decals inspired by each of the four available hero skins, a Psych Wave decal, and a set of this particular vehicle’s wheels, similar to how some older crossover cosmetics eventually became rarest Fortnite skins over time.
Shimada Spinners wheels, which carries an aesthetic nod to Genji, is also up for grabs for 400 V-Bucks. Unlike the character-based items listed above, all these car-related cosmetics are scheduled to go out somewhat earlier, by May 23, 5 PM PDT or 8 PM EDT.
Popular maps and locations from Blizzard’s multiplayer FPS, such as Watchpoint: Gibraltar, King’s Row Tower, Hanamura Courtyard, and Busan Sanctuary, have been included in the Battle Royale map as places of interest. On top of that, there is also themed loot, inspired by Mercy’s Caduceus Staff and Tracer’s Pulse Pistols, to be discovered during matches. Various Overwatch-skinned loot and cosmetics are also part of the milestone rewards, which differ between Team Foundation and Team Ice King factions.
Fortnite’s latest team-up with Overwatch combines two of the most prominent names in live-service gaming and brings much-anticipated crossover content. In doing so, Epic Games has added another major brand to its vast catalog of IP collaborations. Even though such partnerships certainly help in boosting the game’s popularity, the veteran studio may need the kind of modes that drive significant traffic, such as its new Star Wars Droid Tycoon map, more than anything else to boost engagement numbers.
