iCloud+ subscribers are getting new Apple Intelligence benefits in iOS 27, including higher AI usage limits and smarter HomeKit Secure Video features.
Apple is adding two new benefits for iCloud+ subscribers with iOS 27, giving users access to higher limits for some Apple Intelligence features and new AI-powered tools for HomeKit Secure Video cameras.
The new perks come at no additional cost for eligible iCloud+ subscribers, though Apple has not shared the exact requirements for every storage tier.
Apple says some new and enhanced Apple Intelligence features in iOS 27 will have daily usage limits because they depend on powerful server models that are more expensive to operate.
However, users subscribed to “most” iCloud+ storage plans will receive increased access to these features. This likely means higher usage limits than users on the free 5GB iCloud plan receive, though the entry-level 50GB iCloud+ tier may not include the same benefits.
One of the biggest examples is the revamped Image Playground app. Starting with iOS 27, Image Playground can generate photorealistic images thanks to improved Apple Intelligence models. The company has not revealed the exact daily generation limits or how much extra access iCloud+ users will receive.
The improvements come as Apple Intelligence gains access to upgraded models powered by Google’s Gemini technology, bringing more capable AI features across supported devices.
iOS 27 also adds new Apple Intelligence capabilities for compatible HomeKit Secure Video cameras in the Home app.
The new features include generated video descriptions, search support for camera clips, and automatic highlights of important moments from recorded footage.
These camera upgrades are expected to require at least the 200GB iCloud+ plan, priced at $2.99 per month. Users with Apple One Family and Apple One Premier subscriptions should also get access, as both include larger iCloud storage plans.
The new benefits will arrive alongside iOS 27 as Apple continues adding more features to its paid iCloud+ subscription plans.
