Apple's third iOS 27.2 developer beta is now available, but no new features have surfaced yet. Here's what's already in testing and what beta 3 means for iPhone users.
Apple released the third developer beta of iOS 27.2 on October 5, giving testers a newer build as work on the next iPhone update continues. The build number is 24B5099f. Apple has not posted a feature list for this seed, and early coverage has not identified a change unique to beta 3. For now, this is a new testing build rather than a confirmed feature drop.
The bigger changes in iOS 27.2 arrived in earlier builds. They include a redesigned Health app, Group FaceTime Dual Capture, support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in Siri AI, Apple TV profiles on iPhone, and changes to Podcasts. Apple’s beta notes also describe a new App Tracking Transparency prompt for users in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Romania.
Dual Capture can show the front and rear cameras at once during a Group FaceTime call. The Health redesign adds Insights and Longevity sections, while Podcasts gives new episodes a clearer place in the app. These are the changes to watch in the full iOS 27.2 cycle, but they are not beta 3 exclusives.

The first iOS 27.2 beta brought the Health redesign and EU privacy change into testing. The next build exposed code for Apple’s possible AutoLock anti-snatching feature, which could lock a phone after a snatch but is not enabled for users. Apple has not said what beta 3 fixes or whether it changes any of these earlier features.
The version numbers may look odd: iPhone Duo will run iOS 27.1 when it becomes available on October 23, while testers are already working with 27.2. Apple says 27.1 includes features built for the foldable’s design. The company has not said whether 27.1 will be released as an update for other iPhone models.
Apple’s public beta for iOS 27.2 was already available before this third developer build. Beta 2 appeared on September 21, two weeks before beta 3 arrived, but Apple has not explained the gap or announced when the stable version will arrive. The developer release confirms that testing has moved forward; it does not reveal which fixes are unique to this seed. Developers can use it to check how their apps behave against the next system version. If you rely on your iPhone every day, wait for the final release.
