iPhone Duo repair fees: $999 for the inner display, $1,499 for other damage

Apple's reported iPhone Duo repair fees: $999 for the inner display without AppleCare+, or $99 with the AppleCare+ plan, which costs $399 upfront.

Apple listed out-of-warranty repair fees for the iPhone Duo on October 14, according to MacRumors. Without AppleCare+, replacing the inner display costs $999, and the highest fee for other accidental damage is $1,499. With AppleCare+, both of those repairs cost $99.

Without AppleCare+, the inner display repair costs $999

The Duo’s two displays are priced as separate repairs, and the inner one is the most expensive screen fix on the list. The fees below are the ones MacRumors reported from that listing. They are U.S. prices, with the AppleCare+ fee in the last column.

RepairWithout AppleCare+With AppleCare+
Cover layer$49$19
Back glass$199$29
Outer display$379$29
Inner display$999$99
Other accidental damage$1,499 (maximum)$99
Battery$229$0 if capacity is below 80%

The listing calls $1,499 the maximum for other damage, so it marks the top of that range. At $999, the inner display repair alone is half the Duo’s $1,999 starting price. The cover layer is the only repair under $100 without the plan, at $49. Battery service costs $229 without the plan. With AppleCare+, the battery is replaced at no charge when capacity drops below 80 percent.

One inner display repair makes the AppleCare+ plan cheaper

AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss for iPhone Duo costs $19.99 a month, $199.99 a year, or $399 upfront. Apple says the plan covers accidents like drops and spills, battery replacement, and theft and loss on eligible products, with priority support from Apple Experts.

With the plan, one inner display repair costs $498 in total: the $399 upfront price and the $99 fee. Without it, the same repair costs $999. That makes one inner display repair enough for the upfront plan to come out cheaper. The plan prices do not say how long the coverage lasts, so the $498 figure assumes one repair within the plan’s term. A theft or loss claim carries a $149 fee.

AppleCare One is a separate monthly plan that covers more than one device.

Duo fees run about double the iPhone 17 Pro’s without a plan

Apple’s 2025 fee list for the iPhone 17 Pro put other damage at $749 and the front screen at $329, both without AppleCare+. The Duo’s $1,499 for other damage is about double that. Its $999 inner display is about three times the iPhone 17 Pro front screen fee.

Both phones pay $99 with AppleCare+ for other accidental damage, so the difference for that repair sits entirely in the no-plan column.

Some repairs have no plan price, and the fees are estimates

The reported list has no AppleCare+ fee for rear camera damage, which costs $229 without the plan. It also has no plan fee for outer display and back glass damage together, which costs $509 without it. MacRumors reports that Apple calls the figures estimated repair fees, so check the current prices on Apple’s repair page before you decide.

Pre-orders open October 16, and the phone goes on sale October 23

The Duo starts at $1,999 in the US, or $83.29 a month for 24 months through Apple Card Monthly Installments. Pre-orders begin at 5 a.m. PT on October 16, general availability starts October 23, and 28 other countries and regions get it on October 30.
