YouTube Premium will add Peacock in the US in early 2027

YouTube Premium is becoming a broader entertainment bundle. Starting in early 2027, eligible subscribers in the U.S. will gain access to Peacock Premium, according to YouTube’s announcement.

The included plan is Peacock’s ad-supported Premium tier, which currently costs $10.99 per month on its own. It adds NBC and Bravo shows, Universal movies, Peacock originals, and live sports to a membership already built around ad-free YouTube, downloads, background play, and YouTube Music.

Peacock will live inside YouTube

Subscribers will be able to watch Peacock within the YouTube experience. The catalog includes The Office, Saturday Night Live, Love Island USA, Law & Order: SVU, and The Traitors, along with sports from the NFL, NBA, MLB, Olympics, Premier League, WNBA, and more.

There is one important distinction: Peacock Premium still shows ads. YouTube says subscribers will also get an option to upgrade their Peacock membership, but it has not shared the upgrade price or other plan details.

YouTube is using the word “eligible,” so it is not yet clear whether every Premium plan or account will qualify. The company also has not announced a precise launch date, activation steps, or the final price of the combined membership. More details are due over the coming months.

YouTube keeps adding reasons to pay for Premium

YouTube has recently added podcast-focused features for Premium users, including simpler listening controls and automatic playback-speed adjustments. At the same time, it is making Picture-in-Picture available to more free users for long-form, non-music videos.

Adding an entire streaming service gives the paid plan a clearer advantage. NBCUniversal calls it Peacock’s largest wholesale distribution deal to date, potentially placing the service in front of millions of existing YouTube Premium members.

Peacock already has a discounted bundle with Apple TV. The YouTube deal goes further by putting Peacock content directly inside a service many people already use every day, though its value will depend on the price YouTube announces for 2027.

The partnership also extends NBCUniversal’s distribution agreement with YouTube TV. Separately, Peacock Premium will become a paid add-on through YouTube Primetime Channels later this summer, while Peacock Premium Plus is already available there.
