The new Selfie Sing playlist already appears on iOS 27.2, but the front-camera recording only works in the iOS 27.3 developer beta, and just six songs support it so far.
Apple Music is getting a new feature called Selfie Sing, which records a video of you singing along to a song. Right now, the front-camera recording only works in the iOS 27.3 beta, so you won’t find it on iPhones running the regular public software yet.
The feature was first spotted by @aaronp613, who shared it in this X post on November 4:
Here is your first look at Selfie Sing, new in iOS 27.3, inside of Apple Music Record a video selfie, adjusting vocals to make it yours, and share your performance with friends (Animoji is not available for this feature, I used it so I don’t have to post a video of me singing) https://t.co/fLQ3B5DV4N

Selfie Sing looks like an add-on to Apple Music Sing, the existing karaoke mode that shows lyrics on screen and lets you turn the singer’s vocals up or down. What’s new is a front-camera view that records you while the lyrics play on screen.
Selfie Sing comes with its own playlist. Choose a song, tap the camera icon, and then tap the red button to start recording. The lyrics scroll on screen as you sing, and your video is recorded along with them.
Once the song is over, you can adjust how loud your voice is or add one of four effects: Megaphone, Echo, Concert Hall, or Studio. After that, you can save the video to Photos or share it. And don’t worry if you’re not a great singer. Apple’s playlist description says you don’t need to be pitch-perfect.
The recording option isn’t available on every song yet. The Selfie Sing playlist currently includes:
More songs may be added later, but Apple hasn’t confirmed that.
Apple Music Sing requires an Apple Music subscription. Our Apple Music tips guide for iPhone explains how Sing’s karaoke mode works, but it was written for iOS 26, so some steps may look different on iOS 27.
According to Apple’s Sing help page, the feature works on iPhone 11 or later, iPhone SE (3rd generation), several iPad models, and Apple TV 4K (3rd generation or later). The page also says that if you don’t see the Mic button on a supported device, Sing may not be available for that particular song. However, it says nothing about video recording, so it’s not yet clear which devices will support Selfie Sing.
iOS 27 also brought expanded lyrics translation and pronunciation to Apple Music.
Apple hasn’t announced when Selfie Sing will be released. It’s also unclear:
AppleInsider reports that the camera option didn’t appear on an iPad Pro running iPadOS 27.3 in its testing, and it expects iOS 27.3 to reach the public in December.
The Selfie Sing playlist already shows up on iOS 27.2, but the camera option doesn’t. To actually record a video, you’ll need the iOS 27.3 developer beta, and Apple hasn’t confirmed a public beta for it yet.
If you don’t want to run beta software, wait for the public release. Once it’s out, open the Apple Music app, search for the Selfie Sing playlist, pick a song, and look for the camera icon.
