iPhone Duo code leak points to five new StandBy views

A September 28 post by leaker pdfu points to five unannounced StandBy views in development for iPhone Duo. The post says localization strings in the iOS 27.1 simulator revealed the names, and that some views ran in a current renderer. Apple has not announced these views or said they will ship.

The names in the post are Home Camera, Home Modular, Flow, Fade, and Snoopy. They appear to be additional options for the foldable phone’s StandBy mode, but the leak does not explain what each one will do.

Home Camera and Home Modular hint at smart-home controls

Home Camera appears to be designed around one or more camera feeds. Home Modular may arrange controls for smart-home devices. Those interpretations would fit an iPhone Duo propped up on a desk or counter, where the screen can stay visible while the phone is open or standing on its own. The post does not confirm the exact layout, compatible cameras, or which Home controls might appear.

Flow, Fade, and Snoopy are even less clear. Their names could refer to visual themes or different information layouts, but there is not enough in the leak to identify their features. Snoopy may recall the character screensaver on Apple TV; that resemblance is speculation, not a confirmed connection. The post also says an app called Rushmore, which was meant to host some of the views, was missing from the simulator build. That suggests the work may still be incomplete.

How the leak compares with Apple’s StandBy plans

Apple has already confirmed that iPhone Duo will get an expanded version of StandBy mode. It can turn the phone into a clock, photo frame, or widget display, and Apple says it can work even when the phone is not charging. Apple has also announced Calendar and Weather faces alongside the existing Clock and Modular faces, plus a refreshed Photos view in its iPhone Duo announcement.

The code leak may point to options beyond those Apple has described, although Home Modular could overlap with the announced Modular face. It is also possible that the strings refer to experiments rather than finished features. Localization labels can appear before an interface is ready, and features in a simulator build can change or disappear before release.

Apple says iPhone Duo will be available starting October 23, with preorders beginning October 16. The company has not confirmed whether any of these five leaked views will be ready for launch or arrive in a later iOS update.
