Meta unveils camera-free Ray-Bans and a pocket-sized Muse Charm

Meta introduced its first camera-free smart glasses in its Connect 2026 announcement. The Ray-Ban Meta Audio starts at $349 in the U.S. and ships October 13. Meta also showed the pocket-sized Muse Charm, a device for talking with its AI agent, in its official Connect roundup, alongside its new Meta VR Glasses.

Ray-Ban Meta Audio keeps AI and drops the camera

The Audio model is built for music, podcasts, calls, and hands-free Meta AI use. Meta says the 43-gram glasses can run for up to 12 hours on one charge, with up to 48 more hours from the included case. Preorders opened at $349 in the U.S., and shipping starts October 13.

Meta also says its personal AI agent Muse is coming to its AI glasses. The company has not given a model-by-model rollout date.

Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 gets longer battery life

Meta’s camera-equipped Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 adds a customizable action button and up to nine hours of battery life. It keeps the 12-megapixel camera and 3K video recording. The glasses are available now, starting at $449.

Muse Charm gives its AI a pocket-sized home

The pocket-sized device uses a real-time voice model so users can talk with Muse. Meta says it will share more details later this year. Axios reports that Meta plans to make the Charm available by December, but the company has not announced a price.

Meta has also introduced a separate Muse Voice Transcribe tool for Mac, which types speech into apps in real time. That speech-to-text model is different from the personal Muse agent the Charm is built around.

Meta VR Glasses are due in 2027

Meta’s new VR Glasses weigh about 100 grams and use 5K micro-OLED displays. A separate pocketable puck handles the computing, battery, and storage, so the headset itself stays light. Meta says the glasses will cost $1,299.99 USD when they launch in spring 2027.
