Not all great games are everywhere—these Apple Arcade titles are exclusive, and you can’t play them anywhere else.
Whether or not you use Apple Arcade, there is little to no doubt that the gaming subscription service has come a long way since its debut in 2019. Hear me out: What started as home to a few big names, such as Sonic Racing, and a handful of obscure titles, now boasts a curated collection of popular franchises along with beloved indie gems, such as NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition and Dredge+ respectively.
On top of that, there is also a slew of must-play Apple Arcade titles you can’t play anywhere else. These are the games that Apple has made exclusively available for this platform over time, signaling the smartphone giant’s increasing investments in games.
There’s little to no denying that Apple has been gradually growing its stake in gaming. From getting AAA games ported to iPhone to flooding Apple Arcade’s library with touch-friendly experiences, the Cupertino-based tech titan has made notable strides towards ensuring iPhone users have access to some of the most impressive titles in the mobile gaming landscape. Most recently, another AAA heavyweight called Control made its way to iOS and continued Apple’s memorable run.
While the App Store may boast some of the bigger games, such as Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, Resident Evil 4 remake, and Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, Apple Arcade is no slouch either, as it offers the ad-free and microtransaction-free ‘+’ variants of indie hits, including Balatro, Dredge, and Vampire Survivors, as part of its growing lineup.
And then there are also those exclusives that you can play nowhere else but via Apple’s gaming subscription. The following list contains several acclaimed exclusive titles, from original games to established IPs, that are also among the best Apple Arcade games.
Sonic is a name ingrained in the memories of many gamers around the world. This particular foray for the iconic blue hedgehog, developed by legendary studio Sega, sees you assume control of Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Shadow, and more characters. In this 3D action-platformer, you have to race across tracks, collect golden rings, and take down enemies, in order to ultimately triumph against Sonic’s old nemesis, Dr Eggman.
You remember those segments in Christopher Nolan’s Inception where the film’s characters would bring about real-world consequences by taking actions in their dreams? This Apple Arcade title is somewhat similar, in terms of its premise, but with one of the most popular cultural figures, James Bond, at the center of it.
Tormented by criminal organization SPECTRE’s head, Blofeld, Bond is being held captive in a non-physical mental jail known as The Mind Trap. To prevent the villain from taking control of Agent 007’s mind and turning him into a double agent, you must escape through a series of challenging levels, inspired by popular Bond media, using the various gadgets at the MI6 spy’s disposal. From trusted allies, such as Moneypenny, to intimidating hostiles, such as Jaws, an array of fan-favorite characters make an appearance in this top-down action game.
Ever wondered what it is to be a coach in the NFL? This pixel art-based game is certainly one endearing take on the subject. Featuring likenesses of real NFL teams (including ), it lets you assemble your own roster, within the given budget, from among more than 2,000 real NFL players. Your tasks include managing the squad, taking care of press conferences, and taking control of pivotal moments during matches in order to qualify for the Super Bowl and win silverware.
There may only be a few cartoon characters that brighten up your mood as much as SpongeBob, with his effortless sense of humor, does. You can expect similar levels of fun when playing SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit 2, a side-scrolling platformer, which is also the sequel to its highly rated 2020 predecessor.
Following the unexplained disappearance of Krusty Krab’s Fry Cook Station, SpongeBob comes to the rescue of Mr. Krabs and his restaurant business. Unlike his escapade in the first game, on this journey, he’s soon joined by his foe-turned-friend Plankton, who has own missing stuff to track down. As the game progresses, you’ll encounter familiar faces, including Patrick Star and Sandy, as you make your way past a bunch of challenging bosses.
For over a decade and a half, Angry Birds has been an essential for mobile gamers. While there exists Angry Birds Reloaded on Apple Arcade, which is more of a faithful recreation of the original game, Angry Birds Bounce is another entertaining entry which puts a nice spin on the franchise’s usual formula.
Instead of featuring a side-view camera, Angry Birds Bounce employs a top-down perspective and plays more in the vein of old classics such as Breakout and DX Ball. Even though its gameplay is different from the original Angry Birds, the objective is still the same, which is to defeat a swarm of pigs. Among the birds part of the roster are Red, Chuck, Bomb, Matilda, Stella, etc., each having their own abilities.
If you were you one of those kids who played a lot of mobile games a decade or so ago, chances are you recall Jetpack Joyride as fondly as I do. Its sequel flaunts the same kind of adrenaline-pumping action that made the original famous but adds a plethora of new weapons and equipment to protagonist Barry’s arsenal. Your goal is to shoot your way through trap-laden labs, vanquish enemies, and topple the evil scientist’s plans in time.
Another fun title in Ubisoft’s long-running Rabbids franchise, Rabbids Multiverse is a deck-building strategy game. The story revolves around the Rabbid Hero accidentally ending up on a hostile planet while only equipped with a unique camera, which magically creates a clone of the person it captures on film. In this card-based game, you must deploy various characters, possessing different strengths and weaknesses, into battle to successfully get through over 50 action-packed levels.
This one’s a game as old as Apple Arcade itself. Since the beginning, Sneaky Sasquatch has been a go-to exclusive on the service, which is a testament to its quality. The gameplay revolves around you, being the ‘Sneaky Sasquatch’ that you are, disguising as a human and stepping to society to do all the human stuff, such as getting a job, surfing, buying cars, running for mayor—the sky is the limit!
Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom is, for all intents and purposes, a 3D life-simulation game with what many in the gaming community identify as a “cozy” vibe. This Apple Arcade exclusive is based on the long-running Japanese digital toy brand, Tamagotchi.
In this laidback title, created by the veterans at Bandai Namco, you play as Mametchi who must make lives normal again and restore happiness in the world of Tamagotchi after the events of a meteor strike. From vibrant forests to picturesque beaches, you can explore the in-game world on foot or via a vehicle. Among the long list of activities are completing NPC quests, decorating your camp, making friends with other Tamagotchi characters, and more.
This one’s another Apple Arcade game worth playing for those who like laidback fun, but it still requires a bit of your mind’s attention. In Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop, your aim is to match Puyos of the same color to make them pop, chain these pops, and prevent the screen from filling up to advance through the puzzle. Its key highlights include an array of over two dozen playable characters, custom match rules, a bunch of different modes—such as Lesson Mode and Endless Mode—curated for players of varying levels of expertise.
With such a noteworthy collection of exclusives, it’s safe to say Apple Arcade provides subscribers with dozens of hours of gaming value. And, this is while leaving out the numerous multi-platform games that are also a part of the service. In the coming months, it may be fair to expect more worthwhile titles to join Apple Arcade, which shall further ensure there is something for every kind of gamer to play on the platform.
